Zakat Services

Zakat Services

Zakat makes up one of the five pillars of Islam. After the Shahada and Salah (Prayer) it is the next most important obligatory act of worship in Islam. Much like the Shahada and Salah, Zakat has conditions which must be fulfilled with the correct intentions of course.

At AFECC we’re undertaking a new project whereby we provide a Zakat service for the local community. The benefits of this are two-fold; firstly, it allows Muslims to fulfil the obligation of giving Zakat. Secondly, those eligible to receive Zakat are given the support they require. In short, AFECC collects Zakat funds, processes applications and distributes to those eligible to receive Zakat.<

Applying for Zakat

Allah (swt) Himself specifies in the Qur’an who exactly is entitled to receive Zakat.

“Sadaqah (i.e. Zakat) are for the poor, and the needy, and those employed to administer [the funds], and those whose hearts have been reconciled [to the truth], and for those in bondage, and those in debt, and in the cause of Allah, and for the wayfarer; [thus is it] ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.” (Surah Al-Taubah 9:60.)

If you are experiencing hardship and think you may be entitled to Zakat, please complete the AFECC Zakat Application Form.

If you wish to discuss your situation pertaining to Zakat with one of our team, please email at  info@afecc.co.uk or call 0141-433-2686

If the applicant does not fulfil the criteria for Zakat then the application will be rejected. However, this does not mean they are not entitled to charity. AFECC will do everything within its means to assist anyone experiencing hardships.
